Epiphyllum a Favorite
This Epiphyllum sits near the very top of my list of favorite plants, not just for its beauty, but for the memory attached to it. My husband picked up a small start for me at a plant sale, handing over just a single dollar for what would become one of my most cherished plants. I still remember the way he held it out to me with a little smile, as if he already knew it would brighten more than just our porch.
All summer it lived outside, catching the soft morning light and swaying in the warm breezes. When autumn arrived and I brought it indoors, I placed it in our east-facing window— a familiar spot that somehow made me think of all the seasons we’ve watched pass together. And as if sensing its new home, the plant kept on growing, quietly thriving, a gentle reminder of simple days, small gestures, and the kind of love that lingers in the everyday things we tend.
