Why My Husband Loves the Jade Plant (Crassula ovata)

We recently came home with a beautiful little jade plant from the Village Green Floral and Garden Center in Wapakoneta, Ohio. It’s quickly become my husband's favorite plant in our indoor plant collection.

There’s something about its lush, succulent leaves that really caught his eye and he loves how Jade plants thrive with just a little attention.  Unlike some plants that require frequent repotting or pruning, jade plants can live for many years with proper care. This long-term relationship is often rewarding and satisfying to all.

The jade plant (Crassula ovata) is also considered a symbol of good luck. In various cultures, and particularly in Feng Shui, it’s believed that the plant brings positive energy to a home or workplace. The rounded, fleshy leaves of the jade plant are also associated with renewal and growth.

Beyond symbolism, jade plants are also appreciated for being low-maintenance and easy to care for, which adds to their appeal as an indoor plant.

With their combination of practicality, symbolism, and aesthetic appeal, it's no wonder that jade plants have earned a special place in the hearts of many.
